Ayodhya is 100% vegetarian. Every restaurant, every dhaba, every chaat stall. Here is where to eat well near Ram Mandir, what to order, and the actual menu with prices — photographed on March 2, 2026.
Most Ayodhya food guides give you a generic list of restaurant names with no prices, no honest opinion, and no photos. This guide is different. I visited Udupi to Mumbai restaurant on March 2, 2026 with my wife and son — and I photographed the entire menu so you know exactly what to expect before you arrive.
✶ Important — Ayodhya is 100% Vegetarian
Every single restaurant in Ayodhya serves only vegetarian food. No eggs, no meat, no fish — anywhere in the city. This is by tradition and city rule. You never need to worry about what is in your food here.

Highly Recommended — visited multiple times
A South Indian restaurant that works perfectly in the heart of Ayodhya. I have visited multiple times across my 17 trips and it has never let me down. On March 2, 2026, I had the Veg Thali (₹340), my wife joined me, and my son had a Veg Pizza (₹370). Total for all three of us — ₹ less than 800 all inclusive. The food was good, service was quick, and the place was clean and hygienic.

Good — worth trying for South Indian fans
Right next to Shree Prasadam is Bangalore Cafe — you can see both restaurants in the same photo above. It serves authentic Udupi (South Indian) food, which is refreshing to find in Ayodhya. Their tagline is "Namma Udupi Aahar" (Our Udupi Food).
The food here is good — proper South Indian cooking in the middle of a UP pilgrimage town. Great if you are craving dosas, idli, or proper South Indian thali instead of North Indian food after multiple days of travel.
Tip: Also nearby is a Domino's Pizza outlet — serving veg options — for those travelling with children or who want something familiar. All these restaurants are just next to the entrance of Ram Mandir, making them very convenient before or after darshan.
